North Coast Hwa Rang Do Academy
Sa Bum Nim Daniel Perez of North Coast Hwa Rang Do Academy began his Hwa Rang Do career as a personal student of Hwa Rang Do’s grandmaster, Dr. Joo Bang Lee, in the Los Angeles area. He decided to open a dojang in Arcata, California in 1992 to share Hwa Rang Do with California in the North Coast.
The dojang opened in a relatively small building in downtown Arcata, and has since moved to its much larger current location in Sunny Brae. The Arcata Hwa Rang Do community has grown since the dojang’s opening, and continues to do so today.
